At
juin , centré chorégraphique in Belfort has hosted austrian artist David Subal
and his project « Megastore » in the form of workshop.
David Subal is an artist from austria. He was born in Vienne , 1973. He studied dance
and visual arts.
He
is author of many projects and most of his work is developing in situ, from
questions and reflections on the movement and behavior.
Some
of them are :
« Standing
for one hour » - video
performance with michikazu matsune, where both stood up for an hour in 24
capitals in front of the most famous monuments.
« Daneben/a
rating addresses – the issue of comprehensive immigration as a portrait of a
thirty asylum seekers.
« I beg you pardon » - this performance took place at the Judson Church in New
York.
« Made
in vietnam » - a salesman in his vietnamese booth was placed in a gallery
and invited the public and passers –by to have a meal.
One
of the most popular is « Megastore »
Megastore
is a store where you can buy performances. It is ideal shop for buying
movements. It is situated in the market street and it is open during the same
time like other stores.
At
the entrance,exist one list, like in restaurants with all products that you can
buy…deal of the day, piece of theater, cheap copy.
Visitor
can choose some of 60 different products and than that will be made in front of
him. You can choose products that you can bring at home or products which are
performed in front of you.
In
our little workshop we are making a bag. This is a kind of performance where
you have several plastic bags. You take one bag from the pocket and with very
gently moves begin to fill up with
air. Than you throw bag on the floor and visitor can choose one bag and take
home .
Fils
Rose – is a performance where we made rose. We had two thread, one white and
other red. In this performance participate three persons. Two persons write
with thread. One person write « white » with red thread and other
« red » with white thread. When the words are finished third person mix drawings and in that
way make a rose.
But
of course there are a lot of other products. For examlpe one of the cheap copies is with Marilyn
Monroe, which replays the famous scene with her white dress and ventilation.
Or "Dance of Matisse" with five figures which shows the sens of emotional liberation and hedonism.
